New York Benefit – Success :) 6/30/09

Hey everyone!

Last Thursday was the New York Benefit and it took a couple of days to recuperate on sleep and to return to normalcy (especially when you have ambitious producers that decide to schedule a big move to another city 2 days after the benefit), but now that the dust has finally settled – the Divided Families team is happy to report that we had a very successful event!

We had a turnout of roughly 300 attendees and the event ran as smoothly as we could have hoped for.  Perfect weather, no major tech glitches, and a wonderfully organized and executed program (shoutout to the NY Action Committee for all your hard work!).  Plus Circle looked awesome, the catering from Recette was delicious, and the auction was a lot of fun!

A special thanks again to our generous donors for the event (Circle, Recette, and all the auction item donations), our awesome live auctioneer Sandor, and our volunteers – we couldn’t have done any of this without you  :)   And thanks to those of you that came out and supported us – it meant a lot to our entire team for all of you to attend.  It’s always a privilege to share our vision with others and to see how so many different people can come together for a great cause.

So with the New York fundraiser out of the way, next on our agenda is continuing the pre-production, figuring out the intricacies of our new camera (!), and also planning for our L.A. fundraising benefit which will be held at the end of July.  So for all you L.A. folk, if you’ve felt a little left out- never fear.  Divided Families will be coming to your hood soon enough, so check back soon!

And for all of you who are interested in continuing to support our efforts financially, we’d greatly appreciate and welcome your generosity:

Any questions / comments, hit us up  :)
